Three men robbed Chinese restaurant

On Saturday April 6th at approximately 08.00 p.m. a phone call came into the Central Police Dispatch informing them, that three armed masked men had stormed into the Golden Alley Bar and restaurant located in Philipsburg and robbed the establishment.

 

After committing this act the suspects fled the scene on foot. Immediately all patrols on the streets were informed of what had taken place and started to search for the suspects. Shortly after two of the suspects were spotted based on the description of the suspects that was given through by the Central Dispatch. The suspects took off running in different directions through dark the alleys and streets and jumping fences when they noticed they were chased by the police. During this chase two shots were fired. One suspect with the initials D.L. (25) from was caught on the Cannegieter Street. In his possession the suspect had a substantial amount of cash, numerous pre-paid phone cards, a back-pack containing several cellular telephones and another back-pack containing a pistol and a pair of gloves. The suspect was arrested on the spot and all items found in his possession were confiscated for further investigation. He was taken to the Philipsburg Police Station where was turned over to the Special Robbery Unit for further investigation. The two other suspects however were not arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
