The Windward Islands Bank Ltd. (WIB) intends to bring more awareness to St. Maarten’s Carnival, via a cross-island initiative with its parent bank Maduro & Curiel’s Bank N.V. (MCB) in Curacao. This initiative involves inserting a specially designed carnival card stuffer in 16,500 Kompa Leon credit card statements of MCB’s credit card customers. WIB will also offer one lucky winner visiting from Curacao, the opportunity to win NAF 1,000.00 for making purchases in St. Maarten, using their Kompa Leon credit card during Carnival season. The campaign begins on April 6th and ends on May 2nd 2013.
The card stuffers welcome guests on one side with images of places to go and things to do in St. Maarten in Papiamentu. It also displays all business areas where Kompa Leon is accepted and the opportunity to win NAF 1,000.00 with Kompa Leon. Information on events and images of Carnival, including Carnival merchandise like t-shirts and mugs, which are provided by St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation, are displayed on the reverse side of the statement. Kompa Leon Credit Card is the only locally owned card throughout the Dutch Caribbean that offers 1% cash back on all purchases where Kompa Leon is accepted.
