AMFO and St. Maarten Development Fund Foundation Sign MOU

The Antillean Organization for Co-Financing (AMFO) and the St. Maarten Development Fund (SMDF) executed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday, February 18 at the Dr. Claude Wathey Legislative Hall.

The signing was witnessed by the Prime Minister, Hon. Sarah Wesot – Williams and Richelda Emmanuel, President of the Board of the St. Maarten Development Fund.

 

Executing the agreement on behalf of AMFO was Reinoudt Karsdorp, Director and Keith Franca, Interim Director of the SMDF.

The memorandum of understanding sets out terms of cooperation, information sharing on best practices and transitioning terms to insure continuity of program and project funding to Non-Governmental Organizations on Sint Maarten.

Later that same morning, Messrs. Reinoudt Karsdorp representing AMFO and Keith Franca on behalf of SMDF, paid a courtesy visit to the recently appointed Head of the Dutch Government representative in Philipsburg, Drs. Gert Versluis at which time the history of AMFO on the Netherlands Antilles and St. Maarten specifically was outlined and the vision and mission of the St. Maarten Development Fund Foundation was introduced.

The AMFO is represented on St. Maarten by Hendrikje Stoffels rendering communication, evaluation and monitoring of projects and programs from qualifying Non-Governmental Organizations on St. Maarten.

Stoffels will continue to service the wrap up on Sint Maarten until year end and will work closely with the St. Maarten Development Fund to give content to the executed memorandum of understanding.
