Encourages students to submit findings to necessary Government Departments
The St. Maarten Nature Foundation has been advising and mentoring a number of high school students with various environmentally themed projects lately. Particularly students of the Milton Peters College and the Learning Unlimited Preparatory School have been receiving support on various innovative and conservation oriented projects.

"One of our most important tasks is to guide students and offer assistance when it comes to projects and programs centred around the environment, biology and ecosystem management on St. Maarten. We encourage all of the students to not only conduct the necessary research for their grades or for Science Fairs but to also submit their reports and findings to the necessary Departments within Government as solid proposals for the enhancement of the Environment on St. Maarten.," stated a release from the Nature Foundation.
Some of the projects being supported by the Foundation are centred on the Simpson Bay Lagoon, Waste Water, Sea Turtles and Coral Reef Ecosystems. "The only way to really know what is happening with regards to environmental degradation and damage is to research it and to communicate the research to the public and the decision makers. And there is no one better equipped to do this than the students at the local high schools.
