Drive Safely as Students are back at School

Heavy equipment prohibited from operating during peak school hours

The Christmas holidays have come and gone and thousands of school children are back in school since last week Thursday.

This is the first full week of school and work for many others as well, and the School Bussing & Taxi Dispatching Inspection Department of Economic Affairs, reminds motorists to drive safely.

School Bus Section Inspection Head Martha Thewet says she is calling on all motorists to observe the traffic rules, and of course it is always important to drive cautiously in and around school zones.

Heavy equipment is prohibited from operating during 6.30am to 8.30am and 12.00pm to 2.00pm.

The School Bus Inspection section is also appealing to parents to speak with their children about proper behavior while being transported on a school bus to and from school.

This is a New Year and everybody’s cooperation is necessary in order to make this a safe bussing experience for the hundreds of children that travel via bus to school.
