Minister of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports Hon. Silveria Jacobs was on hand earlier this week to receive a copy of the Voice of Our Children Organization (VOOC) calendar.

This public-private partnership venture presentation took place at the Claude Wathey Legislative Hall also in the presence of the Prime Minister Hon. Sarah Wescot-Williams and Interim Faction Leader of the United Peoples (UP) party Hon. Sylvia Meyers.

During the ceremony the Department of Youth and Sports also presented government officials with a brochure that outlines all the articles of the International Convention of the Rights of the Child.

Minister Jacobs will be visiting several schools to present them with a calendar for all classrooms. Students will also obtain a copy of the Rights of the Child brochure.

Minister Jacobs thanked VOOC for their initiative and encouraged more collaboration between Government and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), adding that the public sector cannot do it alone.
