Dutch Caribbean Fire Brigade purchases two new vehicles

The Director-General of Police, Mr. H.W.M. Schoof, signed a contract for the purchase of two new fire trucks for the Fire Department CN on December 12th 2012 on Bonaire. One fire engine is destined for the fire brigade on St. Eustatius and one for Bonaire.

 

The fire engines will be delivered at the end of 2013. With the purchase of this vehicles the equipment of the Dutch Caribbean Fire Brigade is taken to a higher level again. Mr. Schoof emphasized that it is important that the fire brigade has proper material.

 

Sleeping containers

In the presence of the members of the fire brigade of Bonaire new sleeping containers (10 sleeping rooms) were officially taken into service at the fire station on Flamingo International Airport. The fire fighters now have the ability to rest adequately during their 24 hour shifts. The sleeping containers are a temporary solution, and will be used until the new fire station at the airport will be ready in mid 2014.
