Prime Minister Receives Courtesy Visit by Arnhem Major Pauline Krikke

The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams received a courtesy visit from the Major of Arnhem in the Netherlands Pauline Krikke and Living Statues organizer Loekie Morales in order to discuss the on-going Living Statues Festival currently ongoing on St. Maarten. Major Krikke’s visit highlighted the activities centered on the local festival as well as the World Statues Festival which is held in Arnhem every year.

 

The Caribbean Living Statues Festival started off with training workshops held last Sunday and will continue with expositions throughout the weekend in the Maho and Philipsburg Areas. The Prime Minister stated that she looks forward to seeing the performances and that she hopes this unique art form will continue to develop on the island.
