Prime Minister bids Farewell to Former National Security Quartermaster Ad de Vries

The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams bid farewell to Ad de Vries, former Quartermaster of the National Security Service on Tuesday at her Cabinet. De Vries will be leaving his post at the National Security Service for the Netherlands. The National Security Service was established on St. Maarten after the constitutional change in order to fulfill the core tasks which were previously handled by the National Security Service of the Netherlands Antilles. The core tasks of the National Security Service are to investigate persons or groups who pose a threat to the legitimacy of democracy on the island and the integrity of government, to provide security screenings in relation to positions of confidentiality and to give advice to the vital sectors as they relate to National Security. The Prime Minister thanked Mr. de Vries for his hard work and dedication in helping to establish the National Security Service for Country St. Maarten.
