PM Encourages Community to Celebrate St. Maarten’s Week

The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams is encouraging the community to show their support for "St. Maarten’s Week." "In Celebrating the day in which we Celebrate St. Maarten, I would like to encourage the community to start to commemorate St. Maarten’s Day from the beginning of this week. Our Country deserves a whole week of Celebration so I encourage everyone to wear your St. Maarten Colors, fly your flags, show your Pride," commented the Prime Minister.

As part of the U 2 Can Move the Prime Minister will also be organizing a special walk-a-thon where participants will visit the Historic Roundabouts on St. Maarten. "This event will be about History, Pride and Fitness. So I also encourage the community to come out and participate in this unique event," Continued the PM.

St. Martin North will be hosting the St. Martin’s Day Celebrations this year but there will be various events held on both sides of the island to celebrate the 520th birthday of the Friendly Island. "Let us all come together, come together in unity, in kinship and in community spirit to celebrate the country we love so much," concluded Prime Minister Wescot-Williams.
