Points handled during meeting between Curacao and St. Maarten Governments

Please find below a compilation of points handled during the meeting between Curacao and St. Maarten Governments

 

 

Points handled during the meeting:

· Both Governments have agreed to send a letter to the Kingdom Council of Ministers about the normalization of the Central Bank of Curacao and St. Maarten

· A formal Notice will be sent to the Kingdom Council of Ministers regarding the pending shareholder meeting to be held between the Governments of Curacao and St. Maarten and the Board of Directors

· St. Maarten has requested an insight into the Annual Accounts of 2010 and 2011

· St. Maarten expects to receive an update regarding the 2012 Budget

· St. Maarten expects to have a fully functioning and equipped branch of the Central Bank of St. Maarten and Curacao on St. Maarten

· St. Maarten will submit three names as part of the nomination of candidates as a Permanent Seventh Member to the Supervisory Board of the Central Bank. This in addition to the tree candidates submitted by Curacao

· It has been decided to hold periodic bi-lateral meetings regarding the developments of the Central Bank

· With regards to the Suspension of the President of the Central Bank the Government of St. Maarten has again recognized Curacao’s Concern, but has decided to reiterate this statement as part of the Response of the St. Maarten Government. The Government of St. Maarten believes that all issues pertaining to the Central Bank should be handled simultaneously, and the solution regarding the President of the Central Bank is not an overall solution to the issues regarding the Central Bank

· Both Governments have agreed on an operational audit of the Central Bank, guided or executed by the SOAB.
