On May 22nd and 23rd a seminar on ballast water took place on Bonaire. Around 40 participants of all kinds of organizations were present, on the initiative of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment/Netherlands Shipping Inspectorate, Caribbean Region, to be informed about the risks of discharge untreated ballast water and the solutions offered by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
