On 25 April 2012, a contingent of 13 U.S. Forward Operation Location (USFOL) personnel from the 429th Expeditionary Operations Squadron made a donation of their time and craft supplies for children at the FUIK community center. The men and women of the USFOL partnered with volunteers from the community center to help mentor children through crafts, games, and school work. Craft supplies, pens, crayons and playground equipment were among the assortment of supplies donated to help the children with their education and development.
A USFOL member commented, "I’m continually amazed at the dedication of Curacao’s citizens, such as those who operate the FUIK community center. They give so much of themselves to improve the lives of the island’s children." The USFOL personnel have been long-time advocates for the local community and this was yet another outstanding effort to promote the welfare of Curacao’s youngest members.
