On Friday April 27th 2012, His Excellency drs. Eugene Holiday, Governor of Sint Maarten bestowed Royal Decorations on 6 persons for their outstanding service to the community of Sint Maarten.
The 6 persons who have been awarded a Royal Decoration are Mr. Isodore "Mighty Dow" York as a Knight in the Order of Oranje Nassau, Mrs. Asha Stevens–Mohabier, Mrs. Suzette Moses–Burton, Mrs. Stella Elstak-Simmons, Mrs Duane Richardson-Gumbs and Mrs. Soraida Ersilia-Isabella as members in the Order of Oranje Nassau. These persons have distinguished themselves in fields ranging from music, education, health care, youth development, sports and scouting.
This year’s event took place at the Historic Fort Amsterdam.
