Music lovers on St. Maarten are getting hyped up for the appearance of TelCell-sponsored top reggae acts – Chris Martin and Popcaan as the opening acts for this year’s carnival celebrations on April 26.
The pair will be appearing at the Thursday night show along with Trinidad and Tobago’s 2011 Soca Monarch Kes the Band and promoters say all performers are planning to put on an "unforgettable" night on St. Maarten.
"By the way tickets have started moving, the buzz and excitement is already on the street," said show promoter, Randy Piper of Riddim-Box. Tickets are being sold at all TelEm Group locations and at selected outlets.
For the past week TelEm Group’s mobile provider, TelCell has been giving out five (5) free tickets each day in a daily SMS & Win Quiz leading up to the night of the concert,
According to Manager, Marketing & Sales, Mrs. Carmen Lake-Reyes, the response to the SMS quiz has been "outstanding."
She said all correct answers entered into the quiz via an SMS message are put into a draw in which the five winners are selected randomly by a computer.
"If you don’t win today, keep answering the questions by sending your SMS’s each day," Carmen advises those who are still keen on winning a free ticket for the show.
The first batch of contest winners were presented with their winning prizes at the TelEm Group Main Building on Thursday afternoon.
The winners were also informed that their tickets will double up for one hour TelCell to TelCell credit on their mobile phones.
The "1 Red Nation" theme was chosen for the International concert as part of the TelEm Groups rebranding initiative, focusing on the color red and the company’s ongoing efforts to make mobile services affordable to its diverse customer base.
