PEACE IS Foundation has partnered with the St. Maarten Academy for their Choose PEACE project, which was launched in the month of March. PEACE IS assisted with the t-shirts and will also advise and support the St. Maarten Academy as it seeks to build on the buzz created through the launching of the project. The Choose PEACE project is aimed at promoting the message of peace amongst youths and advocating non-violence in schools. The T-Shirts, as well as bumper stickers, will be sold to raise funds for the continuation of the project.

"PEACE IS, as the name suggests, is an organization whose sole purpose is to promote peace amongst the youth and in schools," Glenville Blake President of the foundation said. "So when the St. Maarten Academy approached us about this exciting initiative, we were more than happy to partner with them as we are both working towards the same goals. The fact that students are the ones who are carrying out this mandate is very encouraging as it indicates that there is hope, which we sometimes forget when we see media reports about violence in our schools."

PEACE IS encourages the community to support the St. Maarten Academy by purchasing T-shirts and bumper stickers, which are being sold for US$10 and US$ 5 respectively. These items can be purchased from the SXM Academy Student Care Office.
