Minister of Economic & Tourism Affairs, Telecommunications & Transport Hon. Franklin Meyers, will give the introduction speech at Bureau Telecommunications and Post St. Maarten Business Event at Divi Little Bay Beach Resort on Tuesday afternoon.
Registration of the event will take place at 2.30pm followed by the opening at 3.00pm. Minister Meyers will address the attendees at 3.05pm on the topic: "Economic Value of .sx Domain and 1-800 / 1-900 Numbers."
There will be other speakers during the afternoon event which concludes at 4.45pm with cocktails.
"As a country we are taking the necessary steps to bring our country’s identity to the forefront. These steps entail country Sint Maarten having its own international dialling code, internet identification and a multitude of opportunities for businesses.
"Telecommunications can increase the efficiency of economic, commercial, and administrative activities, improve the effectiveness of social and emergency services and distribute the social, cultural and economic benefits of the process of development more equitably throughout a country.
"Telecommunications is also recognized as an essential catalyst for growth, and country Sint Maarten will fully utilize the opportunities that exist to create opportunities for our people," Minister of Tourism & Economic Affairs Hon. Franklin Meyers said on Monday.
