St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board announced that Cockspur rum will be the official rum of West Indies tour of the United Kingdom 2012.
Dr. Ernest Hilaire Chief Executive Officer of the WICB commented: "As we start our overseas campaign this year the WICB is delighted that Cockspur rum will be joining us on what we hope will be a successful tour. We look forward to a fruitful and continued partnership with Cockspur."
Philip McTeer, Cockspur Head of Brand UK commented: "Cockspur has built up great brand awareness amongst cricket fans over the years and is continuing this strong association through its involvement with the West Indies cricket tour."
"We’re proud to be an authentic rum from the West Indies island of Barbados and look forward to getting behind the Windies team this summer," McTeer added.
The move, is the latest in a series of sponsorships which strengthens Cockspur’s association with cricket.
As part of the campaign the brand will undertake consumer facing activity, including tapping into its new social media sites, conduct activity at grounds and will introduce an on pack promotion which will give consumers the chance to win a trip to the brand’s home in Barbados.
