St. Maarten Cable TV will open a new Simpson Bay location on March 5, 2012 to accommodate customers who must switch to its digital service. The new location is at the Mail Box at the Palapa Center across from RBTT Bank at Simpson Bay. Customer service representatives will be available to process digital swaps, new accounts and other digital inquiries. The location at the Mailbox will only process bank cards transactions (credit or debit cards) or check payments. Hours of operation at this location are Monday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Company switched to an all-digital platform four weeks ago and subscribers are encouraged to visit the office at Madame Estate and the Simpson Bay location to exchange their analog box for a digital box in order to continue viewing the exciting and expanding channel line-up.
Subscribers are scheduled by area to swap their analog cable box for a digital box to ensure that their transactions are processed in an efficient manner. Customers must also bring their remote(s), coupon book and a valid ID. Those subscribers that have a shield on the cable box or are unable to remove their cable box, should call the customer service department at 542-4361 for further instructions.
Subscribers in Area #3 are encouraged to visit the office from now until March 9, 2012 to swap their box. Area #3 includes the following neighborhoods.
– Dawn Beach
– Oyster Pond
– Red Pond
– Defiance
– Middle Region
Customers in area #4 are encouraged to come in to the offices from March 1, 2012 to March 13, 2012. Area #4 includes:
– Pelican
– Simpson Bay
Customers in areas 1 and 2 who have not made the switch are encouraged to do so at this time to avoid the rush at the end of April when the analog signal is discontinued.
Beyond the improved quality of service that the digital signal provides, customers with digital converters are receiving new channels in their current packages. For example, on February 1, 2012, three new channels were launched in the Solid Gold Package: The Africa Channel (282), Sony Entertainment TV (286) and Smile of a Child (313).
