Rain during the past weeks has hampered progress, however the technicians are finding creative ways to complete their tasks.

In the Guana Bay area, some packing crakes came in handy as a makeshift bridge over a waterlogged ditch.

At this location several underground cables had to be spliced in place and lines migrated from an old cabinet to a new cabinet.

Outside Plant Zone Supervisory Steve Simmons said a number of workers throughout the districts have been out during the evenings and at weekends to tackle a backlog of outages left over from the recent cutover operation in the Philipsburg area.

"We want to be sure that as many customers as possible have their voice and internet lines in place for Christmas," said Steve.

He said where the problems require major trenching and/or complicated construction work, these will probably have to hold over until the New Year.
