Man arrested for stealing cell-phone

The end of the year operation "December Offensive 2011" already indicates that it will be an effective and successful project. On Thursday at approximately 03.50 p.m. the Police Central Dispatch informed all police patrols taking part in this operation, that shortly before a Blackberry telephone had been stolen in Front street from the victim with initials P.J.A. After committing this act the suspect fled the scene in a small white car and was heading in the direction of Sucker garden. A description of the suspect was also given to the patrols. Immediately after receiving this info a search to locate the suspect started. At approximately 04.15 p.m. a small white car was spotted, by one of the patrols, in the vicinity of Sucker garden road number 1. A man fitting the description of the suspect stepped out of the car. The patrol immediately approached this man and asked him to identify himself. His initials are A.R.P.B. from Sint Maarten. When the suspect was searched, the stolen cell-phone and a small plastic bag containing an amount of marihuana were found on him. These items were confiscated for further investigation. The suspect was arrested on the spot and taken to the Philipsburg police station for further investigation.
