Police Report: Body of Man Found in Sea

On Sunday morning at approximately 10 o’clock a phone call came into the Central Police dispatch that a body was floating in the water in the vicinity of the Sun Set Beach Bar.

The body was floating towards the Maho Reef area. Immediately police patrols, Coast Guard, ambulance department and Detective Department were notified of the situation and went to the scene to carry out an investigation. On the scene the lifeless body of a man was taken from water and brought ashore by onlookers. An attempt by the paramedics was made to try to re-animate the victim, but to no avail. The doctor announced the death of the victim at approximately 10.55 a.m. and that the victim had died of drowning. During the investigation by the Detectives and Forensic department, no signs of foul play were found. The identity of the victim who seem to be from an Asian descent, between 25 and 30 years of age, approximately 1.80 meters tall, slim posture, black hair(shortly cut), has not yet been identified. As the identity of the victim is established the media will be informed.
