The Conference is aimed at rejuvenating the region-wide medical structure within the cricketing fraternity and establishing a network of sports medicine professionals throughout the region to support the West Indies cricket structure.

A detailed and comprehensive WICB Medical Policy and Procedures with regard to injury management will be presented and discussed.

An anticipated highlight of the Conference is the participants receiving complete training in the Injury Profiler System which has been launched by the WICB to keep detailed track of all injuries to players and their rehabilitation.

"This is a major initiative of the WICB and in addition to the groundbreaking work which we will engage in at the Conference itself, it will also see the commencement of regular communication networks and programs of education for all the medical professionals involved in West Indies cricket," said WICB physiotherapist, CJ Clarke.

Dr. Akshai Mansingh, Dr. Anyl Gopeesingh, Dr. Karen Bynoe, Dr. Rene Best, former West Indies Strength and Conditioning Coach Ronald Rogers and Windies Women Strength and Conditioning Coach Shannon Lashley will deliver lectures on various topics.

Clarke, WICB Player Relations Officer Ayana Cooper, Sagicor High Performance Centre Sports Psychologist Simon Grayson, WICB Video and Statistical Analyst Richard Berridge among other specialists will also deliver lectures.

The key note address to launch the Conference will be delivered by West Indies Head Coach Ottis Gibson.
