BAVPOL Holds Opening Ceremony For Justice Recruits

on Monday July 25, 2011, the Honorable Drs. Rhoda Arrindell Minister of Education, gladly inspected and welcomed, 82 new recruits during a short opening ceremony, to the Ministry of Justice’s BAVPOL Course of Sint Maarten. The Justice Minister the Honorable Roland Duncan is currently off island.

The Sint Maarten BAVPOL Course is a modified version of the original BAVPOL course which has always been implemented in The Netherlands, Curacao and Aruba. The Sint Maarten Course is designed to produce skilled and trained law enforcement officers, where-ever needed throughout the Ministry.

The Minister of Education cordially congratulated all the recruits on their achievement and welcomed them to the force. The Minister admonished the recruits to remain determined throughout the course; and added that they are expected to give their best to this job as the rest of society are depending on them. As the ceremony closed the recruits immediately began their first set of activities, of a two week orientation period after which classes will begin.

Also present at the ceremony were; Justice Department heads and support staff, instructors and the relatives and friends of the recruits.

The keynote address was given by Minister Rhoda Arrindell on behalf of Minister of Justice Mr. Roland Duncan. 

BAVPOL’s Chief Instructor Mr. Stijker was also in attendance to address the recruits and also to encourage them to continue doing their utmost best.
