Hon. Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams was among several dignitaries that recently attended the book launch party held in honour of author and historian Daniella Jeffrey at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library.
The Prime Minister was presented with a copy of the book. "These book parties have captured a special place in the country’s literary development, as we celebrate new additions to our growing archives of home grown writings.
"In this particular case, Daniella chronicles an important part of our history and the effects of our economic growth on the native population.
"No account of this particular time in our history is complete without the island’s political systems and its tumultuous relationships with France and the Netherlands being included, a relationship that is examined critically by the author," Hon. Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams said.
