On Saturday April 30th approximately 09.00 p.m. a fight took place in Margareth Bruce’s Drive in Middle Region between two men with the initials E.A. and O.A. During this fight the victim O.A. was struck in his head with a stone. According to the suspect E.A. he was attacked by the victim with a knife causing him to defend himself with a stone.
The suspect was arrested on the spot and taken to the police station for further investigation. The victim who later became ill at the police station was treated by paramedics and then transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for treatment and was admitted in the ICU.
At the hospital the attending doctor stated that the victim was in very critical condition and had suffered a massive concussion. The victim O.A. died during the evening of Wednesday May 4th 2011 as a result of the injuries he had sustained. This case in under investigation.
