This award winning movie portrays the life of a group of children and their families in a small village during the civil war in El Salvador in the 1980s. At the time young boys were forcibly recruited by the government’s army. Mexican director Luis Mandoki based this film on a true story. It is a story of love, hope and the power of the human spirit.
