The U.S. Consulate General in Curacao donated an assortment of English language books, new and used, to the Biblioteca Nacional Aruba on March 31, 2011. The multi-interest books are an important addition to the library’s current English language book collection.
The books are intended for all ages, but many are of special interest to young people. Among the gifts are books related to sports, nature, U.S. culture, U.S. government and a variety of anti-drug flyers. The United States Consulate General hopes this collection will contribute to a better understanding of the U.S. and its diverse culture. Library director Astrid Britten accepted this gift on behalf of the library from U.S. Vice-Consul Winifred Hofstetter.
