The 55 year old veteran of the Guyana Police Force will also be responsible for preparing and managing the execution of the International Cricket Council Anti-Corruption Security Unit requirements at all WICB Regional Tournaments. Slowe will also lead the development of the standardization of security plans and minimum security standards for WICB events across the region.

"It is a progressive move by the WICB to appoint a Security Manager as it demonstrates a cognizance of the need to ensure the safety and security of players, officials and the fans at all times," Slowe said.

"My entire career has been in law enforcement and I will bring that experience to this new position. I have also had the benefit of working at high level cricket tournaments in the region and other regional events involving mass crowds," Slowe added.

"It will present unique challenges as the WICB hosts events across the region in multiple sovereign territories and it will require meticulous planning and coordination to ensure success at all times," Slowe said.

Slowe brings immense experience in the field of law enforcement and security to the post. He headed the development and implementation of Guyana’s National Security Plans for Cricket World Cup 2007, CARIFESTA 2008 and the ICC World Twenty20 Championship 2010.

Slowe holds a degree in Public Management from the University of Guyana. He is also a graduate of the United States National Defense University, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Police Staff College in Bramshill, United Kingdom.

Slowe, a career policeman, served in numerous high level capacities of the Guyana Police Force including Head of Operations, Head of the Presidential Guard, Commander of the Tactical Services Unit and Divisional Commander.
