On Wednesday November 10th 2010, the Philipsburg Jubilee Library in collaboration with the Cultural Center and the National Heritage Foundation joins with the thousands of residents to celebrate our first St. Maarten’s day since we became a country within The Kingdom of The Netherlands.
A small ceremony to commemorate this auspicious achievement will take place at the Library. A mini march on the Library premises will be led by The Generation New Status STM drum band, and the SDA Drum Band followed by congratulatory speeches by government representatives. There will also be an exhibition of the historical events that lead to St. Maarten gaining its status as a country. We are inviting the general public to join us in this celebration.
