As result of the hard work and intervention of the St. Martin Pony League in conjunction with the French St. Martin Baseball and Softball Association four St. Martiners were selected for the Senior National baseball selection of France . It is with much pride and satisfaction that we can now inform that in the game played on Sunday one of the St. Martin players, Omar Williams, connected a homerun to contribute massively to the first victory of the French National selection in defeating the team of Ukraine 6 – 1. With this victory team France is now 1 – 1 in the European Baseball Championship games. In yesterday’s game France lost to the Netherlands with a score of 10 – 0 in which game Felix Brown of St. Martin was the only player of France that reach on base twice. Jean Samer also forms part of the senior selection and will be part of the under 21 selection that will be traveling to the C. Republic.

Some St. Martin players are expected to travel along with Mr. Gabriel Brown to the C. Republic were they will be joining the other players of the under 21 selection of France .

During tryouts on St. Martin some 13 players has been pre- selected for the various French National Selection Teams. Both parties across the Atlantic have expressed the whishes to continue with this exchange for next year also.
