We would like to take this time to officially invite you the general public to our book launching.

It will be a fun filled program where everyone will get the chance to meet and talk with the young St. Maarten author Michel Hodge Jr. He will also read and sign your copy of his book. Time: 11 am to 12.30 pm.

Michel Hodge born and raised in St. Maarten, started writing at the tender age of 7. He was obsessed with the wonderful world of words.

He attended St. Dominic Primary and Secondary high School, studied writing at the University of Tampa, and is currently studying at the University of The Hague in the Netherlands. When he first fell in love (puppy love) he began writing; which was his first shot at poetry. It began to grow as he took a shot at writing skits, his first skits was "Good Santa Bad Santa". His passion for writing continued and he started writing short stories. After encouragement from his parents, family and friends the "Sausage Ranger was born with his little brother in mind the stories just seemed to flourish.

From the 31st of May to 11th May 2010 Michel Hodge visited schools and read from his book encouraging students to read and strive for the best in everything that they do.

"The Sausage Ranger":

The Sausage Ranger is a story about a hotdog living in the Food World Supermarket. The food is alive, thanks to the help of a mysterious food scanner and live lives of their own. But there is always evil food lurking around, so Frank Hotdog, the Sausage Ranger, must keep the peace.

The book is separated into five different adventures with their own themes and villains. This is so you can pick up the book one day, following Frank on an adventure, take a break, and when you return to it later, you’re on a whole new ride. Frank is the newest and tastiest hero, and his adventures will continue on.

Everyone can look forward to the second installment soon.

The Philipsburg Jubilee Library joins Michel Hodge Jr. in encouraging reading among students who are continuing in their studies in this wonderful world of learning.
