The Minister of Justice Magali Jacoba met on Monday March 8th 2010 with the management of the house of detention in Sint Maarten.
The goal of this meeting was to discuss different several important points in relation to the prison. The Minister got a full explanation on the special youth program to deal with youngsters in the prison. This program is been positively monitor by the CPT commission and the Minister thinks it is of high importance to continue with this program. The Management also spoke to the Minister on the importance to continue with recruitment of new prison guards. The recruitment of new prison guards has the attention of the Minister of Justice Miss Jacoba. The Minister already approved a class consisting of 15 guards to start and they are already in progress.
