Police Report: Two police officers receive deed for 40 years of service, Student at Sundail school

On Monday February 1st 2010 two police officers namely chief inspectors Dafnis Francisca and Johan "Janchi" Leonard received their deed for forty years of service in the police force.

This ceremony took place in the Philipsburg Police Station and carried out by the minister of Justice Ms. Magali Jakoba who is presently on Sint Maarten on a working visit. Also present at this ceremony were the State Secretary of Justice Mr. Ernie Simmons, Acting Chief of Police Ademar Doran, other members of the management team and family members of the police officers. During the ceremony the minister of justice sincerely thank both Francisca and Leonard for the many sacrifices they have made during the last forty years of service and encouraged them to pass on their knowledge to the younger officers presently in the police force.

 

Student at Sundail school stabs another

On Monday February 1st 2010 at approximately 12.35 p.m. a unit of the police bike patrol was sent to the Sundail School for a case of ill treatment. On the scene the officers spoke to the principal of the school who stated that a fight broke out between two students of that school after an argument. During this fight one of the students with the initials K.D. stabbed the another student with the initials O.R.C. with a scissors,. The victim O.R.C. got stabbed in his back, right side of his chest and left elbow. The victim was taken to the Sint Maarten medical center for treatment. The suspect was arrested on the scene and taken to the police dept. for investigation. The case is in the hands of the detective dept.
