"There was the necessary progress, although this was at a slow pace. In some cases there was a lack of determined decision-making, which caused matters to take more time than expected. The common goal, however, is clear for all involved.

According to Bergsma, this progress was for a large part thanks to the excellent cooperation with the Directory of Finance of the Netherlands Antilles and the departments of finance of the different islands. Bergsma: "Cooperation and an open communication are fundamental to jointly achieve the goals that are agreed upon". The secretary also made some remarks on the year 2010. According to him the year 2010 promises to become an exceptional year. Furthermore he expressed his hope and expectation of continuing working this year as well on these common goals.

The New Year’s brunch, which was organized for the second time, was very well visited by representatives of the different departments of Finance, and of other organizations active in the field of public finance.
