This new project encompassed the free transportation of the general public from the evening of the 31st December to the morning of the 1st January in an effort to reduce drunk driving, parking & traffic congestion and increase pedestrian safety.

"For a first time the operation ran pretty smoothly" said Mirabelle West. Shuttles were all in location promptly at 6pm and started rolling around 6.45 until the early hours of the morning. One passenger Sue from the Frenchside stated "you would not have caught me out tonight if there was no bus, we had a great time!" whilst another happily exclaimed "so happy for the water!"

The quietness of 2009’s end of year activities provided the perfect platform for this projects inaugural run. Overall happy with the results, the organisers stated that they would have no trouble doing it again after this first success. "We now have a better idea of how things run from the ground level" says Mirabelle, who chatted with several shuttle goers, bus drivers &security throughout the night to gain necessary feedback to apply to future projects.

Mirabelle West would like to thank platinum sponsor ILTT – International Liquors & Tobacco Trading and their brands (Heineken, Heineken Light, Smirnoff, Johnny Walker, J&B and Baileys), CHIPPIE, Heavenly Water, Ortega Events & Promotions, CIB, Mr Holiday of PJIAE, Management of Le Grand Marche Group & of Caribbean Cinemas, Samuel Allen of sxmislandtimes.com, Team of Out & About, Laser101.1 & Youth Radio92.5, Trackx, Sheriff Security & Dutch Tours for making it possible.
