New Year’s Speech from The Acting Chief of Police Commisioner, D.W.O. Francisca

On behalf of the Police Force of the Windward Island ( Korps Politie Sint Maarten, Saba en Sint Eustatius) I must say, that as the year 2009 comes to an end, this police force together with the community it serves, have confronted many obstacles.

I must continue to say that together we will face many more challenges in the upcoming year.

However in the past we have always accepted and faced the challenges before us. Together we have done what we had to do, as a society, to overcome these challenges and obstacles. We have done this knowing that our pride and strength would carry us through.

The police force has never sidestepped the responsibility of protecting and serving this community and has pledged to continue to do so.

As we go into 2010, the police force will, without a doubt be striving to fulfill our "Mission and Vision", in which we deliver the highest quality of service for the safety and protection of the community and to "hand in hand" with the community achieve the highest level of Community Policing. The police is therefore looking for total support and cooperation from the community in the upcoming year.

On behalf of the Police Force of the Windward Islands I want to wish all its members, their families and loved ones, the Minister of Justice of the Netherlands Antilles Ms. Magali Jakoba, Local Chief of Police Lt. Governor Franklin Richards, the Lt. Governors of Saba and Sint Eustatius, the leadership of the V.K.S and the V.K.E, leadership of the Koninklijke Marechaussee and R.S.T., the Public Prosecutors Office and all other Judiciary Departments and most of all the entire community of Sint Maarten, Saba and Sint Eustatius a very prosperous and productive 2010.

Thank you.

The Acting Chief of Police

Commisioner, D.W.O. Francisca
