IR. Julius Lambert to be guest speaker at the CPYP’s forum on St. Maarten’s cost of energy

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Directors NV GEBE, IR. Julius Lambert has been invited by the Chapter of Professional Young People (CPYP) to be their guest speaker at their 3rd informative session. Mr. Lambert, former CEO of NV GEBE has been invited due to his vast experience of 20 years at mentioned company.

This info session will serve to further explain the unstable and unpredictable cost of energy, which has been and will continue to be a major concern to countries such as St. Maarten who are dependent on oil resources for the generation of electricity.

Mr. Lambert will also brief the public on the corporate structure of the company, and the changes to this structure after years of central government ownership.

The matter of the so-called fuel clause, which has forced the company to pass on the cost of fuel for electricity production to their customers; future (innovative) measures to curtail and/or eliminate load shedding are some of the discussion topics.

Valuable tips will be also exchanged on ways to conserve energy in the households or places of business, thereby reducing cost of energy. The forum will culminate in a question and answer session, providing the possibility for the public to pose their questions and concerns.

The info session will be held at the Belair Community Center on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 7.00 p.m.
