Just recently the Parliament of the Netherlands Antilles gave support to Health Minister Omayra Leeflang’s proposal to ensure the continuation of medical insurance coverage under the Social Insurance Bank fund for all pensioners who became 60 years old and their families.
Given the importance of health care for persons approaching the pension age of 60, the CPYP deemed it necessary to invite the Minister to St. Maarten to further explain the law for seniors as proposed on Curacao and similarly how the law can be implemented on St. Maarten for its seniors.
An invitation to the general public will be extended. However, seniors and their families are encouraged to attend this informative session. Confirmation of the date of the Minister’s visit will be announced next week. Additional information regarding the date, venue and time of the info session will be furnished in a subsequent release.
The CPYP is an organization of young St. Maarten professionals, whose quest is to encourage awareness through community outreach activities and info sessions, which will be effective for the socio-economic and community development on St. Maarten. This is one of the many informative/educational sessions being organized by the CPYP.
