The protocol (Brooks Tower Agreement)
National Alliance Senator/Councilman George Pantophlet said that he wants to try and bring some clarity to the controversy surrounding the protocol a.k.a. Brooks Tower Agreement.
This protocol was signed in March 2, 2007 by the Minister of Justice Mr. David Dick and all the Lt. Governors of the Island territories. It was to address the problem of undocumented persons living in the Netherlands Antilles. After hearing complaints that it would not be published I contacted the Minister Dick who informed me that the protocol will be published. However some logistics had to be put in place first. It would be irresponsible to publish the protocol now when the location designated to handle the requests is not ready. We are all aware that the Immigration Dept located in the Police Station and the Police Affairs office will be relocated to the newly constructed building on ATh Illidge Road. After this is done and everything is in place the protocol will be published. It is unfortunate though that this is coming almost 3 years after it was signed.
