On Wednesday April 1st the recruitment commitee of the Police Corps of Sint Maarten, Saba and Sint Eustatius flew over to the sister island of Saba, where they officialy kicked off the recently launched major recruitment drive for police officers.
Present at this event were the Minister of Justice David Dick, state secretary Ernie Simmons, the Lt. Governor of Saba Mr. JOHNSON, the acting Chief of police commisioner Ademar Doran and members of the unions NAPB and ABVO. A presentation was done at the Saba Comprehensive School by the coordinator of the recruitment drive Chief Inspector Carl JOHN, assisted by members of the commitee.
The students of the school were all quite impressed with the presentation and several of them showed intrest in becoming police officers. The Minister of Justice David Dick, the State secretary Ernie Simmons and the Lt. Gov. Mr. JOHNSON also adressed the students of that school given them words of advice and encouragement to join the police force. Also a large billboard was place front of the police station in the Bottom. There were also several posters placed on different locations of the island.
The launching of the recruitment drive will move to Sint Eustatius on Thursday April 2nd.
