Angelo Rombley takes the music and video mix to students

Angelo Rombley spoke with high school students at the St. Maarten Academy (2/6/09) about the new and enhanced uses of audio-visual technologies and media platforms in creating and producing music and other art forms. The award-winning graphics designer and Academy alumni used his laptop to show some of his tech works, including the music he mixed and videos he produced for the new Audio CD The Salt Reaper – selected poems from the flats by Lasana M. Sekou (2009). "I was impressed by the interest from the students and their spontaneity —especially when one class broke out into a spontaneous song as a group response to a point I was making," said Rombley.

"I also emphasized the need for consistent study, discipline, originality, and loving the good that you do. These are some of the sure ways for young people to help put themselves on the road to various types of successes in work and life." House of Nehesi Publishers (HNP) coordinated the school visit. Rombley participated in HNP’s weekend launch/concert for The Salt Reaper – attended by some 190 guests at Belair Community Center. Earlier this week the Cole Bay native returned to the USA, where he lives and works. The Salt Reaper CD, with Rombley’s "relentless" music and Sekou’s vocals, is available at Van Dorp and Arnia’s bookstores, 15-A Philipsburg Marketplace, and ChillOut music store at Le Grand Marche. The CD music and MP3 downloads and ringtones are available at, iTunes and
