"We are currently waiting on the summer break to do the major works, but the rest of the works can be handled during the duration other than summer vacation. The project is slated for 9 months."

The realization of this project came about through the Harbor deal. In addition, the Island Government contributed.

This is the 4 th of such projects, namely: St. Peters, Retreat Estate, and Belvedere will be upgraded, beautified, and cabling underground.

The main contractor will subcontract with district contractors when available, as has been the case in the other districts.

The last major work that was done in South Reward was about 30 years ago according to Kurt Ruan, Head of New Works, who pointed out what is to be done: there will be underground sewage, side walks, adequate parking, especially around the schools for buses, and the facilities underground.

The diversion of the traffic is planned out and will go into effect once the works have begun. Drivers are asked to be patiently, as well as to carpool.
